Sound Of Liberation and Desertscene UK gained yet another high-performance artist for their Desertfest, which is already brimming over with excellent bands. Russias psychedelic flagship, The Grand Astoria, are to play in Berlin, on Saturday the 21st of April.

The Grand Astoria have been literally “omnipresent” in Europe and America for the last couple of years and are now able to perform at this gathering of the european stoner scene.

Kamille Sharapodinov, The Grand Astorias frontman, says, that next years Desertfest will be a good start, for what he hopes to become an annual event “The booking agency is strong, so maybe in 2013 it will be even cooler!”.

The 21st of Apil 2012 is also the release date of their latest Album “Omnipresence” on 2LP via Berlin-based label Setalight.

Other recently announced bands are:

Shrine ’69
Psychedelic 70ies Alternative Rock from the UK.

Grandloom
Instrumental Jam Rock from Germany.

Los Disidentes Del Sucio Motel
Straighforward Stoner Rock from France.

Unsurprisingly the Early Bird Tickets, a three days pass for 55€ limited to 300 tickets, were sold out within less than two weeks.
A limited amount of  three-days-tickets will be available for the price of 69€,  and two-days-tickets, Friday and Saturday, are available on pre-sale for 60 € from Dec. the 18th on.

Also announced only very recently, will the Desertfest be the setting for the premiere of Black Mass Rising, a film designed by the Psychedelic Rock genre itself, whose content and plot are yet unknown.
